This award is given in memory and honor of Chuck Thalmann. Mr. Thalmann was an outstanding Platteville Optimist Club member who was passionate about preparing kids for their future. He was dedicated and active in serving others through various venues including church, community and the Optimist organization. The recipient of this award must be an individual who has shown outstanding service, loyalty and devotion to our Club, Optimist International's Mission and Vision Statement, and the Platteville Optimist Club's Vision. This year's award was presented to Amy Coffey.   Amy joined our club a few years ago as well, and has never ceased to raise her hand when volunteers are needed. She is a member of our board and the chair of our Youth Committee, and also one of the friendly faces that fills in for our treasurer Duane at morning meetings.  Amy really cares, and that goes beyond just our club. This became extra apparent a few weeks ago when she volunteered to be the coach of the PHS dance team, because since no one else volunteered, 9 dancers were not going to have a season.  She stood up and committed, and it's still early in the season, but we think she'll be great!  Thank you, Amy.
