Our guest speaker today was Troy Pittz of Alliant Energy. He spoke about renewable energy and what the future goals are for Alliant Energy. They have a goal of having all of their smaller fleet vehicles like cars and small trucks to be total electric by 2030. They plan to plant 100,000 tree to help restore oxygen back into the environment by 2030. Their goal is by 2030 to be at 50 % renewable energy. They have a goal of being at 7% of power generated by coal by 2030 and eliminate all coal fired power plants by 2040.
Troy also spoke about wind mills and solar panel farms.
