Dawn Drake retired from UW-Platteville after 33 years with the UW-System. She has remained very busy in her retirement. Dawn oversees Ruby's Pantry which is a mobile food pantry held at the United Methodist Church on the first Thursday of each month. “Ruby’s Pantry” serves about 400 shares each month. The food provided is all donated from corporations. The people served are asked to pay $25. It takes approximately 100 volunteers to help on Ruby’s Pantry days and additional volunteers are always welcome.
Dawn also talked about “Food and Fellowship”. This program occurs on the 2nd Wednesday of every month where they serve a meal for between 275-450 people from 5 to 6 p.m.
“Quilting and Crafting for Christ” program where volunteers make lap quilts for all ages, in addition to making cards and other crafts. The volunteers meet on Tuesday from 3-6 p.m.
