2024 Essay and Oratorical Contest Winners

The 2024 Optimist Essay contest topic was "Optimism: How it Connects Us". The Optimist Oratorical contest choose the topic of “How to Change the World with Optimism.”  The Oratorical contest was held at the Wisconsin Bank & Trust Community Room on the evening of March 25, 2024. Winners will move on to the Zone Contest on April 10th with an opportunity to advance to District Level competition to be held at the 3rd quarter SWIS District Conference in Milwaukee in May. The winner at the District Level receives a plaque and a $2,500 scholarship.


Nuzaira Rabbani, 1st Place

Nuzaira Rabbani of Platteville, daughter of Farzana Marni and Mohammad Rabbani, placed first in both the Essay and the Oratorical contests. As 1st Place winner she was awarded $150 for each contest.


Nuzaira's essay has been submitted to District. She will now move on to the Zone Oratorical Contest, from there she has an opportunity to move on to the District Level competition.

Halle Furrer, 2nd Place





Halle Furrer of Cuba City, daughter of Derek and Lauren Furrer, placed second in the Oratorical contest. Halle was awarded a $100 from our Club. She will also move on the Zone Contest with an opportunity to advance to the District Level competition.
