Mandi Jacquinot and Barb Daus, Volunteer Advisory Board Members for the Platteville Community Fund (PCF), spoke at the Optimist weekly meeting on November 22, 2024. The "fund" was founded in 2002 as a component of the Community Foundation of Southern Wisconsin (CFSW). PCF is a permanent, unrestricted, charitable endowment dedicated toward the betterment of the Platteville community. PCF focuses on enhancing art and culture, education, health and human services, the environment, and historic preservation through its grant program. Donations to the PCF are welcome at any time of the year. Individuals and groups can donate to the fund in a variety of ways including but not limited to cash, stock securities, real estate, life insurance, QCD/RMD, and bequests.

PCF accepts applications and awards grants twice annually to local non-profit organizations, the school district, and/or local government agencies providing charitable programs or projects serving our community. In 2024 they awarded ~$50,000 in grants to our community. Some grant recipients included Boy Scouts, City of Platteville, Family Advocates, Rountree Gallery, Jamison Museum Association, Platteville Community Arboretum, Platteville Fire Department, Platteville Holiday Project, Platteville Main Street Program, Platteville Police Department, Platteville School District and Sleep in Heavenly Peace.

Thank you Platteville Community Fund for paying it forward and giving back to our community!
